It was our desire to visit the oldage home run by The Little Sister’s Of Poor,Bajodi.With a week long preparation besides our exams we gave two hours
programme there.It was nice to be with them.To share our Christmas joy with them and to express it with our games and singing.We spent our little time sharing and interacting with them.All were happy to see Santa back with gifts.
The time we spent there was very enjoyable and cherishing.We are grateful to our sponsors Fr.Franky,Mrs.Anne DeSouza and Fr.Walter.Indeed our visit was sweet experience as it is said ” Old wine tastes good”.

Birthday of Santhosh. Santhosh the Philosopher of our community celebrated his birthday.Since he is thekitchen coordinator cooks had the tough time.OSF ordered the biggest cake possible.Telephone exchange disconnecetd the line becouse they had no personel to direct phonesto santhosh. He had a PHILOSOPHICAL birthday.

It was the dream of long time to have a website of Ashakiran.So after a long time of hard work our blog is out in the internet.It was inagurated by Fr.Provincial during his officaialvisit here.Sch.Wilson & Sch Rohan were the men behind the work.Who has designed the web with creative ideas and putting in lot of new things.So we requst you topost your views and fancies on this web,do log on and don’t forget to send your comments.

Visit of the fourth Magi

On the feast day of Three wisemen.we had anotherwiseman in Ashakiran.Fr.Vijay Prabhu was on hisofficial visit to Ashakiran.He met all the Jesuits.It was his maiden visit,since the new Ashakiran wasinuagrated.He was very happy with progress of this housein all areas of acadamics and apostolate.He shared his concerns and dreams for the Province.Truely it was a timeof grace .

Delegates to Patna Province Congregation

Bernard and Cebin belong to the Patna provenance of the Society of Jesus. We had gone to Patna for our province days. The theme of our province days was “friends in the lord.” We have had a real experience of being friends in the lord all throughout our stay at Patna. We had sharing group discussions, personal reflections, and above all it was an experience of fraternal unity. We carry in me this experience of being united, and accepted in the bond of companionship and We would like to spread this measure of unity in my community in Mangalore as a new year gift.

Dogs Day Out

Our guardian dog Bush met his early end martyred by a express bus. His sad dismiss put the whole house in silence (no more his barks were heard). Sch. Romeo, he in charge was in mourning for two days since he became unemployed.

Scarred Not Scared

Sch. Jimmy Mendis (Goa) suffered a fracture while defending the college team in Mangalore Football League. He had scored a goal and was heading for another. He says ‘they were jealous of his game’.Must be true everyone feels that way. Now he receives TLC form everyone and recouping well.

Visit of Magi

It was a home coming experience for Fr. Ambrose D’
mello of Kohima province. He visited Ashakiran and was very happy to see young Jesuits. He shared his past enriching experience with us. His words were full of zeal and fire, which enkindled many of us thinking of going to Kohima.

Christmas with a difference

Christmas is for sharing our joy and love with others. So Ashakiran community visited Cheshire Home, a house for old and disabled
people. We shared our joy by being one with them. There were some fun games and songs to make our presence effective. It was enriching experience and Christmas made more meaningful and rich.

A reason to celebrate and be joyful. We celebrated the feast of St. Berchmans, the patron of Jesuit Scholastics on the 15th of December .It was a meaningful celebration.

That evening began with the Basketball match .Then there was Eucharistic celebration. Fr.
Frankie was the main celebrant and Sch. Maxim broke the word of God. Sch. Cebin and Wilson conducted quiz on the life of St. Berchmans .The program concluded with the dinner. So truly it was good time to celebrate the phrase – Friends in the Lord.
